In one embodiment, the portable wavefront aberrometer comprises a light source, a housing having first and second apertures formed therethrough, and a plurality of optical components disposed within the housing. The plurality of optical components are arranged to direct light generated by the light source to the first aperture via a first optical channel; direct light received into the housing through the second aperture to the first aperture via a second optical channel; and direct light received into the housing through the first aperture to a light detector via a third optical channel.
