A system is disclosed. The system includes at least one physical memory device to store medium classification logic and one or more processors coupled with the at least one physical memory device to execute the medium classification logic to receive optical density (OD) measurement data corresponding to application of a halftone pattern using ink on a print medium in a printing system, receive ink deposition measurement data corresponding to application of the halftone pattern using the ink in a printing system, determine a set of distribution function parameters based on the OD measurement data and the ink deposition measurement data, apply the set of distribution function parameters to machine learning logic trained to classify the print medium and classify the print medium as a first of a plurality of print medium categories based on the machine learning logic.
An inkjet recording apparatus includes: a tank having an ink chamber and formed with an inlet; a recording head; a display configured to display a screen; and a controller configured to control the recording head and the display. The recording head is configured to eject the ink stored in the ink chamber to record an image on a sheet. The controller is configured to: execute a first determination process to determine whether a user is near the inkjet recording apparatus; and execute, after determination in the first determination process that the user is near the inkjet recording apparatus, a notification process to control the display to display a notification screen when the quantity of ink stored in the ink chamber is not less than a residual ink threshold. The notification screen prompts the user to check the quantity of ink stored in the ink chamber.
A vehicle-mounted system for recording video and audio. The system uses distributed processing, including encoding the video and audio at their source(s), and a high-speed, e.g., Ethernet, bus connecting the various system components and external devices. The system may include a display monitor which is integrated into the same housing as a rear view mirror of the vehicle, with the display monitor being located behind the mirror and video displayed on the monitor being visible through the mirror.
