Disclosed is a charging cradle for a headset device, which includes a housing with a surface providing a mounting depression, and a cover with a transparent surface pivotably connected to the housing so as to open and close the mounting depression. The headset device is mounted in the mounting depression so as to charge an internal battery pack provided in the headset device. The cradle protects the headset device under charging, enabling the user to observe the charging state without opening it. An earphone cover for a headset device includes a projected semi-circular fixing ring for preventing the earphone from being removed from the ear. The earphone cover is provided in various sizes to fit a user's ear size, and may be rotated to change the rotational position of the fixing ring so as to enable the user to put the headset device selectively on the right or left ear.
Systems and methods are described to automatically balance acoustic channel sensitivity. A long-term power level of a main acoustic signal is calculated to obtain an averaged main acoustic signal. Segments of the main acoustic signal are excluded from the averaged main acoustic signal using a desired voice activity detection signal. A long-term power level of a reference acoustic signal is calculated to obtain an averaged reference acoustic signal. Segments of the reference acoustic signal are excluded from the averaged reference acoustic signal using a desired voice activity detection signal. An amplitude correction signal is created using the averaged main acoustic signal and the averaged reference acoustic signal.
A device for receiving an Internet radio broadcast is provided. The device comprises a communication interface, at least one input control mounted on the device. a display, and at least one processor in communication with the communication interface, the at least one input control, and the display, and memory containing software executable by the at least one processor. The device is operative to: access through the communication interface an Internet radio having a list of Internet radio broadcast stations; store a list of preferred Internet radio broadcast stations; in a first display mode and in response to a physical manipulation of the at least one input control, scroll through and display on the display at least one Internet radio broadcast station from the list of available Internet radio broadcast stations; in a second display mode and in response to a physical manipulation of the at least one input control, scroll through and display on the display at least one preferred Internet radio broadcast station from a list of user-preselected preferred Internet radio broadcast stations; send information identifying a selected Internet radio broadcast station from either the first or second display mode; and receive the Internet radio broadcast provided by the selected Internet radio broadcast station.
A method of adjusting a loudness of an audio signal in real time may include receiving an electronic audio signal and dividing the audio signal into a plurality of frames. Processing of the frames may be performed in real time. The processing may include measuring initial loudness values for blocks of samples in a frame to produce a plurality of initial loudness values, and computing a weighted average of at least some of the initial loudness values. The weights may be selected based on one or more of the recency of the initial loudness values, variation of the initial loudness values, and estimated information content of the audio signal. The processing may further include selectively discarding at least some of the loudness values that reach an adaptive loudness threshold. Weights can be adjusted based on the variation of the loudness values of the audio signal.
