An imaging device provides a mobile device multi-feed scanner, which may utilize remote data capture for multi-sheet feed scanning by using mirrors to form a reflective path allowing the viewing of the reverse side of the check on a platform to capture the check image on a mobile device. A camera on the mobile device may either sequentially or simultaneously capture a picture of both the front and back sides of the check. The platform may include a transparent portion, which may be adjacent to a stage portion. The first and second mirrors may be positioned such as to allow imaging of a reverse side of an object through the transparent portion of the platform while the object rests on the stage portion.
A sales data processing apparatus includes the following. A narrow area communication unit communicates with a predetermined terminal apparatus by wireless communication limited to a narrow area. A wide area communication unit communicates with the terminal apparatus by wireless communication throughout a wide area. A mode switching unit switches between a first mode in which wireless communication with the terminal apparatus using the narrow area communication unit is allowed but the wireless communication using the wide area communication unit is prohibited, and a second mode in which at least wireless communication using the wide area communication unit is allowed. A report mode which outputs sales data calculating predetermined transaction data is assigned to the first mode.
Various embodiments herein each include at least one of systems, methods, software, and devices for proximity-based transaction device selection. One embodiment in the form of a method performed on a mobile device includes receiving a positioning signal and identifying a terminal associated with the positioning signal. An instruction may then be transmitted to the identified terminal via a wireless data communication device of the mobile device.
Methods and systems related to near field communication (NFC) front ends for point of sale terminals are disclosed. One point of sale system includes an applications microprocessor programmed to: (i) instantiate an operating system for the point of sale system and (ii) generate a set of data packets. The system also includes a discrete microcontroller communicatively coupled with the applications microprocessor and programmed to: (i) selectively operate in an unsecure mode and a secure mode; and (ii) filter, when operating in the unsecure mode, the set of data packets received from the applications microprocessor using a filter and a whitelist for the filter. The system also includes a near field communication front end communicatively coupled to the discrete microcontroller and an antenna, for transmitting a near field communication signal based on information from the set of data packets via the antenna.
A method of enabling a payment between a payor using a mobile device and one of a plurality of payees using respective payee devices, comprising: monitoring a first communication channel for receipt of a broadcast of a first identifier corresponding to one of the plurality of payee devices; upon receipt of the first identifier, generating an identifier notification comprising the first identifier and a second identifier corresponding to the mobile device, and transmitting the identifier notification from the mobile device to a payment processor over a second communication channel; in response to receipt of the identifier notification transmitted from the mobile device at the payment processor, associating the second identifier of the identifier notification with the first identifier of the identifier notification in a payment processor memory of the payment processor; generating a payment request comprising the second identifier, and transmitting the payment request from the mobile device to the payment processor; in response to receipt of the payment request transmitted from the mobile device, generating a payment notification in respect of the payment re quest, and transmitting the payment notification from the payment processor to the payee device corresponding to the first identifier associated with the second identifier.
Methods, systems, and computer program products for providing secure transactions for a device with limited functionality are disclosed. For example, a computer-implemented method may include presenting an encoded image identifying a form of payment on a display of a computing device in response to detecting a condition limiting a functionality of the device, maintaining the presentation of the encoded image on the display in response to the detected condition, and removing the presentation of the encoded image from the display in response to determining that the detected condition is no longer detected.
Logic on a first remote device receives a first transaction number and personal data transmitted from a second remote device. The first transaction number was received from a distributed public database in response to a transmission, from the second remote device, of a signed hash value and a first public key associated with a first private key on the second remote device. The signed hash value was created by signing a hash value with the first private key and the hash value was generated by hashing the personal data with a hashing algorithm on the second remote device. The logic uses the first transaction number to retrieve the signed hash value and the first public key from the distributed public database. The logic hashes the personal data using the hashing algorithm to create a generated hash value and verifies the signed hash value against the generated hash value.
