An embodiment of an improved fishing lure comprises a fishing lure body having an approximately flat surface on the top side or bottom side of the body and a blade statically affixed to the approximately flat surface. The lure body may include a recess having a wall and a base, wherein the approximately flat surface is at the base of the recess, and wherein around a portion of the perimeter of the recess at least one lip extends inward from the wall of the recess. The blade is preferably disposed in the recess and below the at least one lip. In some embodiments, the approximately flat surface has a float angle between about 30 degrees and about 90 degrees relative to horizontal, and more preferably between about 35 degrees and about 45 degrees relative to horizontal.

A baitcaster includes a housing, a spool, a drivetrain, a bearing housing, and an input shaft. The housing defines a first member and a second member. The spool is positioned between the first member and the second member. The spool is configured to rotate in a first direction and a second direction. The drivetrain is positioned proximate the first member and is configured to rotate the spool in the first direction and the second direction. The bearing housing is positioned between the spool and the drivetrain. The input shaft is disposed along at least a midpoint of the baitcaster. The input shaft is configured to coaxially align the spool, drivetrain, and bearing housing. An axial force is generated between the spool and the drivetrain. The axial force is distributed through at least a portion of the bearing housing to prohibit the axial force from transferring into the drivetrain.

A fishing bobber with directional buoyancy includes a trunk, a limb, and a mechanism for engaging a fishing line. The trunk has a weighted end that sits below water and a buoyant end that remains above. The limb extends outward from the buoyant end and holds the line-engaging mechanism. When a fish strikes and swims, the limb rotates in the direction of the movement, providing a visual cue to the angler. A cantilever allows the bobber to change position depending on whether the hook is weighed down by bait.

An organizer is disclosed for use in storing a plurality of fishing leaders. The organizer may include a base having an internal storage space, and a plurality of spools removably received within the internal storage space. Each of the plurality of spools is configured to receive a different one of the plurality of fishing leaders. The organizer also includes a winding location positioned external to the base and configured to removably receive at least one of the plurality of spools.
