Methods and apparatus for efficiently directing communications are disclosed. On example entails receiving, from a mobile terminal, a communication directed to a cellular communication network, the communication being received in an alternative channel that differs from a channel of the cellular communication network. The communication is then converted for a relayed communication to the cellular communication network on behalf of the mobile terminal, the relayed communication being made through the cellular communication network.
Examples may include techniques to determine locations of a physical resource in a data center. A data center can include a number of racks having sled spaced. The sled spaces accommodate sleds having one or more physical resources disposed on each sled. The racks and sleds can include a beacon and beacon sensor, respectively, operable to determine a location of the sleds within the data center. Beacons and beacon sensors can exchange signals, a pod controller can receive an information element including indications of the exchanged signals and determine a location of the physical resource within the data center.
Apparatus comprises adapter and speaker system. Adapter is configured to plug into port of personal digital audio player. Speaker system is in communication with adapter, and comprises multiple acoustic transducers, programmable processor circuit, and wireless communication circuit. In first operational mode, processor circuit receives, via adapter, and processes digital audio content from personal digital audio player into which adapter is plugged, and the multiple acoustic transducers output the received audio content from the personal digital audio player. In second operational mode, wireless communication circuit receives digital audio content from a remote digital audio source over a wireless network, processor circuit processes the digital audio content received from remote digital audio source, and the multiple acoustic transducers output the audio content received from the remote digital audio source.
