Legal claims defining the scope of protection. Each claim is shown in both the original legal language and a plain English translation.
1. A method for browsing network data, which is operable on a device for browsing network data, wherein the method comprises: requesting for acquisition network data which includes thumbnail media data used for a thumbnail display of original media data; acquiring the thumbnail media data and data amount information of the original media data corresponding to the thumbnail media data by: querying a server, on which the thumbnail media data is stored, whether the data amount information of the corresponding original media data that is bound to the thumbnail media data is stored on the server; when the data amount information is not stored on the server, acquiring the thumbnail media data and address information of the original media data corresponding to the thumbnail media data and acquiring the data amount information of the original media data according to the address information; and when the data amount information is stored on the server, acquiring the thumbnail media data and the stored data amount information of the original media data that is bound to the thumbnail media data in advance; and displaying the thumbnail media data and the data amount information.
A method for browsing network data on a device involves requesting network data including thumbnail images of original media files. The method then retrieves the thumbnail and the file size (data amount) of the original media. This retrieval involves checking if the server already has the file size stored alongside the thumbnail. If the file size isn't stored, the method retrieves the thumbnail and the address (URL) of the original media, then uses the address to determine the file size. If the server does store the file size, it simply retrieves the thumbnail and the stored file size. Finally, both the thumbnail and the file size are displayed to the user.
2. The method of claim 1 , further comprising: estimating a network transmission speed; calculating download time taken for downloading the original media data according to the data amount information and the network transmission speed; and displaying the download time.
The network data browsing method from the previous description also estimates the current network speed. Using this estimated speed and the file size of the original media, it calculates the estimated download time for the original media file. This estimated download time is then displayed to the user alongside the thumbnail and file size, allowing the user to make informed decisions about downloading.
3. The method of claim 1 , wherein, the original media data is image data, and the thumbnail media data is thumbnail image data.
In the network data browsing method described, the original media is specifically image data, and the thumbnails are thumbnail images generated from those original images. The thumbnail and image size are displayed to the user.
4. The method of claim 1 , wherein, the original media data is video stream data, and the thumbnail media data is thumbnail image data of the video stream data.
In the network data browsing method described, the original media is streaming video data, and the thumbnails are still images extracted from that video stream (e.g., automatically extracted keyframes or manually created thumbnails). The thumbnail and video size are displayed to the user.
5. A device for browsing network data, comprising: a requesting unit, configured to request for acquisition network data which includes thumbnail media data used for a thumbnail display of original media data; an acquiring unit, configured to acquire the thumbnail media data and data amount information of the original media data corresponding to the thumbnail media data, wherein the acquiring unit comprises: a determining subunit, configured to query a server, on which the thumbnail media data is stored, whether the data amount information of the corresponding original media data that is bound to the thumbnail media data is stored on the server; a non-binding-and-storing processing subunit configured to, when the data amount information is not stored on the server, acquire the thumbnail media data and address information of the original media data corresponding to the thumbnail media data, and acquire the data amount information of the original media data according to the address information; and a binding-and-storing processing subunit configured to, when the data amount information is stored on the server, acquire the thumbnail media data and the stored data amount information of the original media data that is bound to the thumbnail media data in advance; and a displaying unit, configured to display the thumbnail media data and the data amount information.
A device for browsing network data includes a request module to request network data with thumbnail images of original media files. An acquisition module fetches the thumbnail and the file size of the original media. The acquisition module determines if the server stores the file size with the thumbnail. If not, a subunit retrieves the thumbnail and the original media address, then gets the file size from the address. If the server stores the file size, a subunit retrieves both directly. A display module then shows the thumbnail and the file size.
6. The device of claim 5 , further comprising: a network speed estimating unit, configured to estimate a network transmission speed; a download time acquiring unit, configured to calculate download time taken for downloading the original media data according to the data amount information and the network transmission speed; and a download time displaying unit, configured to display the download time.
The network data browsing device from the previous description includes a network speed estimation unit that estimates the current network speed. A download time acquisition unit calculates the estimated download time for the original media based on its file size and the network speed. A download time display unit then shows this estimated download time to the user, along with the thumbnail and filesize information.
7. The device of claim 5 , wherein, the original media data is image data, and the thumbnail media data is thumbnail image data.
In the network data browsing device described, the original media is specifically image data, and the thumbnails are thumbnail images generated from those original images. The thumbnail and image size are displayed to the user.
8. The device of claim 5 , wherein, the original media data is video stream data, and the thumbnail media data is thumbnail image data of the video stream data.
In the network data browsing device described, the original media is streaming video data, and the thumbnails are still images extracted from that video stream (e.g., automatically extracted keyframes or manually created thumbnails). The thumbnail and video size are displayed to the user.
9. A non-transitory storage medium containing computer-executable instructions, which, when executed by a computer processor, are configured to cause the processor to perform a method for browsing network data, the method operable on a device for browsing network data, wherein the method comprises: requesting for acquisition network data which includes thumbnail media data used for a thumbnail display of original media data; acquiring the thumbnail media data and data amount information of the original media data corresponding to the thumbnail media data by: querying a server, on which the thumbnail media data is stored, whether the data amount information of the corresponding original media data that is bound to the thumbnail media data is stored on the server; when the data amount information is not stored on the server, acquiring the thumbnail media data and address information of the original media data corresponding to the thumbnail media data, and acquiring the data amount information of the original media data according to the address information; and when the data amount information is stored on the server, acquiring the thumbnail media data and the stored data amount information of the original media data that is bound to the thumbnail media data in advance; and displaying the thumbnail media data and the data amount information.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium stores instructions that, when executed, cause a device to browse network data. This involves requesting network data that includes thumbnail images of original media files. The device retrieves the thumbnail and file size of the original media, first checking if the server stores the file size with the thumbnail. If not, it retrieves the thumbnail and the address (URL) of the original media, then uses the address to determine the file size. If the server stores the file size, it retrieves both directly. Finally, the thumbnail and file size are displayed.
10. The non-transitory storage medium of claim 9 , wherein the method further comprises: estimating a network transmission speed; calculating download time taken for downloading the original media data according to the data amount information and the network transmission speed; and displaying the download time.
The non-transitory storage medium from the previous description also contains instructions that cause the device to estimate the network speed, calculate the download time of the original media using the file size and network speed, and display the estimated download time to the user, in addition to the thumbnail and filesize.
11. The non-transitory storage medium of claim 9 , wherein, the original media data is image data, and the thumbnail media data is thumbnail image data.
The non-transitory storage medium described, the original media is specifically image data, and the thumbnails are thumbnail images generated from those original images. The thumbnail and image size are displayed to the user.
