An information processing apparatus comprising a touch screen which detects a touch input by a user detects the position and pressure of each of a plurality of pressed points corresponding to a plurality of touch inputs existing at the same time on a touch screen. Then, the front/rear overlap relationship of the plurality of objects displayed on the touch screen is changed based on the difference in pressure between the detected plurality of pressed points.
Legal claims defining the scope of protection. Each claim is shown in both the original legal language and a plain English translation.
1. An information processing apparatus having a touch screen which detects a touch input, comprising: an obtaining unit configured to obtain a position of each of a plurality of touch points corresponding to a plurality of touch inputs existing at the same time on the touch screen; a display unit configured to display an area indicating existence of a plurality of objects on the touch screen; and a display changing unit configured to, if it is detected that positions of the plurality of touch points obtained by the obtaining unit move in directions such that the plurality of touch points obtained by the obtaining unit become further away from each other from the area indicating existence of the plurality of objects, display the plurality of objects on the touch screen, whose existences are indicated by the area.
An information processing device with a touchscreen detects multiple simultaneous touches. When these touch points move outward, away from an area representing multiple objects on the screen, the device displays those objects individually. This allows a user to reveal and interact with objects that were previously hidden or grouped together. The device tracks the position of each touch point to determine the "spread" gesture.
2. The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the area indicating existence of the plurality of objects is an area in which at least a part of the plurality of objects are displayed as overlapping each other.
The information processing device of the previous claim displays the multiple objects as partially overlapping each other initially. The "spread" gesture separates these overlapping objects, making each individually visible and selectable. The starting point is a visual stack or pile of objects.
3. The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the display changing unit displays an arrangement of the plurality of objects.
The information processing device, as described before, arranges the revealed objects in a specific layout or configuration once the touch points have moved apart. This layout may be a grid, a circle, or some other predefined arrangement, instead of merely separating them randomly.
4. The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the display changing unit controls a position interval of the plurality of objects displayed on the touch screen based the positions of the plurality of touch points that have moved.
The information processing device described earlier controls the spacing between the displayed objects based on how far apart the touch points have moved. A larger outward movement of the touch points results in a wider separation between the objects, while a smaller movement results in a smaller separation.
5. The apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein the display changing unit changes a front/rear overlapping relationship of the plurality of objects displayed on the touch screen.
The information processing device detailed earlier changes the stacking order of the displayed objects. So if object A was on top of object B initially, the spread gesture might bring object B to the front. The front/rear relationship changes based on the touch input.
6. An information processing apparatus having a touch screen which detects a touch input, comprising: an obtaining unit configured to obtain a position of each of a plurality of touch points corresponding to a plurality of touch inputs existing at the same time on the touch screen; a display unit configured to display a plurality of grouped objects wherein at least a part of the grouped objects are overlapping each other; and a display changing unit configured to, if it is detected that positions of the plurality of touch points obtained by the obtaining unit move in directions such that the plurality of touch points obtained by the obtaining unit become further away from each other from a position where the plurality of grouped objects are displayed in a condition where at least a part of the group objects are overlapping each other, display an arrangement of the plurality of grouped objects on the touch screen.
An information processing device with a touchscreen displays multiple grouped objects that partially overlap. When multiple touch points move outwards away from the grouped objects, the device separates and arranges the objects, displaying them individually. The starting point is a cluster of objects, and the spread gesture reveals each object within the cluster.
7. The apparatus according to claim 6 , wherein the display changing unit controls a position interval of the plurality of objects in the arrangement based on the positions of the plurality of touch points that have moved.
The information processing device from the previous description controls the spacing between the arranged objects based on the distance the touch points have moved. The greater the separation of the touch points, the greater the distance between the displayed objects. The device measures touch displacement and maps it to object spacing.
8. An information processing apparatus having a touch screen which detects a touch input, comprising: an obtaining unit configured to obtain a position of each of a plurality of touch points corresponding to a plurality of touch inputs existing at the same time on the touch screen; a display unit configured to display a plurality of objects on the touch screen; and a display changing unit configured to, if it is detected that positions of the plurality of touch points obtained by the obtaining unit move in directions such that the plurality of touch points obtained by the obtaining unit become further away from each other from positions of the plurality of objects displayed by the display unit, change locations of the plurality of objects.
An information processing device with a touchscreen displays multiple objects. When multiple touch points move outwards, away from the displayed objects, the device repositions those objects to new locations on the screen. This is a general object rearrangement based on a spread gesture.
9. A control method of an information processing apparatus having a touch screen which detects a touch input, comprising: an obtaining step of obtaining position of each of a plurality of touch points corresponding to a plurality of touch inputs existing at the same time on the touch screen; a display step of displaying an area indicating existence of a plurality of objects on the touch screen; and a display changing step of displaying, if it is detected that positions of the plurality of touch points obtained by the obtaining unit move in directions such that the plurality of touch points obtained by the obtaining unit become further away from each other from the area indicating existence of the plurality of objects, the plurality of objects on the touch screen, whose existences are indicated by the area.
A method for controlling an information processing device with a touchscreen involves detecting multiple simultaneous touches. The method displays an area representing multiple objects. When the touch points move outwards, away from the area, the method then displays each object separately on the screen.
10. The method according to claim 9 , wherein the area indicating existence of the plurality of objects is an area in which at least a part of the plurality of objects are displayed as overlapping each other.
In the touchscreen control method described previously, the area indicating the multiple objects shows them as partially overlapping. The outward touch gesture then separates and reveals the individual objects from this overlapping state.
11. The method according to claim 9 , wherein the display changing step displays an arrangement of the plurality of objects.
In the touchscreen control method described previously, the method arranges the revealed objects in a specific layout or configuration, such as a grid or circle.
12. The method according to claim 9 , wherein the display changing step controls a position interval of the plurality of objects displayed on the touch screen based on the positions of the plurality of touch points that have moved.
In the touchscreen control method described previously, the spacing between the displayed objects is controlled by how far the touch points have moved apart. More movement means more space between the objects.
13. The method according to claim 9 , wherein the display changing step changes a front/rear overlapping relationship of the plurality of objects displayed on the touch screen.
In the touchscreen control method described previously, the front-to-back ordering of the objects is changed, so objects initially hidden can be brought to the front.
14. A control method of an information processing apparatus having a touch screen which detects a touch input, comprising: an obtaining step of obtaining position of each of a plurality of touch points corresponding to a plurality of touch inputs existing at the same time on the touch screen; a display step of displaying a plurality of grouped objects wherein at least a part of the grouped objects are overlapping each other; and a display changing step of displaying, if it is detected that positions of the plurality of touch points obtained by the obtaining unit move in directions such that the plurality of touch points obtained by the obtaining unit become further away from each other from a position where the plurality of grouped objects are displayed in a condition where at least a part of the group objects are overlapping each other, an arrangement of the plurality of grouped objects on the touch screen.
A method for controlling an information processing device with a touchscreen involves displaying a plurality of grouped objects wherein at least a part of the grouped objects are overlapping each other. When the positions of the touch points corresponding to a plurality of touch inputs move in directions such that they become further away from each other from a position where the plurality of grouped objects are displayed in a condition where at least a part of the group objects are overlapping each other, the method displays an arrangement of the plurality of grouped objects on the touch screen.
15. The method according to claim 14 , wherein the display changing step controls a position interval of the plurality of objects in the arrangement based on the positions of the plurality of touch points that have moved.
The touchscreen control method from the previous description controls the spacing between the arranged objects based on the distance the touch points have moved. The device calculates the touch displacement and adjusts spacing accordingly.
