Technical Abstract

A display unit with a touch detection function includes: a plurality of touch detection electrodes arranged side by side to extend in a direction, each of the touch detection electrodes being formed in a predetermined electrode pattern including electrode portion and opening portion and outputting a detection signal, based on a variation in capacitance due to an external proximity object; and a plurality of display elements formed in a layer different from a layer of the touch detection electrodes, a predetermined number of the display elements being arranged within a width dimension of a region corresponding to each of the touch detection electrodes. The predetermined electrode pattern corresponds to a layout pattern of the display elements.

Claim 1

Original Legal Text

1. A display unit with a touch detection function, the display unit comprising: a plurality of pixels arranged in a pixel layer in a matrix along a first direction and a second direction, the pixels including a red pixel, a green pixel, and a blue pixel; a plurality of touch detection electrodes that are arranged along the first direction with a predetermined gap between them and that extend in the second direction, in a touch detection region; and a plurality of dummy electrodes that are arranged in a matrix along the first direction and the second direction in a dummy region that is in a display region except in the touch detection region, the dummy electrodes being arranged electrically isolated from each other; wherein, the touch detection region is spaced apart from the dummy region by a first gap that extends in the second direction, a first gap pixel is a red pixel located within the first gap, the first gap is substantially centered with respect to the first gap along the second direction, and in the first direction, the first gap pixel is adjacent to the blue pixel disposed in the touch detection region and adjacent to the green pixel disposed in the dummy region.

Plain English Translation

This display unit incorporates touch detection. It has a pixel layer containing red, green, and blue pixels arranged in a matrix. Touch detection electrodes are positioned in a touch detection region, spaced apart and extending in a different direction. Dummy electrodes, electrically isolated, are arranged in a matrix in a dummy region within the display area but outside the touch detection region. A gap separates the touch detection and dummy regions. A red pixel, referred to as a "first gap pixel," resides within this gap, centered along the gap's length. This red pixel is positioned next to a blue pixel in the touch detection region and a green pixel in the dummy region.

This display unit incorporates touch detection. It has a pixel layer containing red, green, and blue pixels arranged in a matrix. Dummy electrodes, electrically isolated, are arranged in a matrix in a dummy region within the display area but outside the touch detection region. A gap separates the touch detection and dummy regions. A red pixel, referred to as a "first gap pixel," resides within this gap, centered along the gap's length. Additionally, the dummy electrodes are separated by a second gap, and a red pixel, a "second gap pixel," is located within this second gap and centered along its length. This second gap pixel is positioned next to a blue pixel and a green pixel, both located in the dummy region.
